The motor is an older 50HP Evinrude twin (Model # 20273C) which is a 1973 hydro-electric shift, long shaft engine. I re-built the carbs and changed the water-pump, seals and screen and went through the electric control box. I also put on a new prop that works perfect with three people and three labs in the boat. The motor runs great and has good compression and spark (Electronic ignition) and the charging circuit ,,any idea what i could get for this??/ thanks, bill
forgot to mention comes with steering controls with teleflex cable..

I just swapped outboard motors on my boat and cannot get the key to start the motor that I installed. Both motors were Mercurys. The plug on the wiring harness looks the same. The motor I installed is a 1983 model and the controls were new in 1993. Not sure if this is the problem. I do have power to the motor and can jump start the motor across the solenoid.
